Obituary of Doyle Edward Stephens

Doyle Edward Stephens, 73, of Tuckasegee, N.C., went home to be with his Lord Monday, December 23, 2013 at Med West Harris Hospital in Sylva. Doyle was a 20+ year Veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served two tours in Vietnam. He enjoyed hunting but was a very avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Marlow Stephens. He is survived by his wife of 28 years Lois Wiggins Stephens 2 Sons- Steve Stephens of Dillsboro Eddie Stephens and his wife Tammy of Cullowhee 2 Step-Children- Sharon Eddleman and her husband Jimmy of Piedmont, SC Daniel Thackston of Simpsonville,SC 7 Grandchildren and one great grandson 6 Brothers- Aldon and his wife Jeanie, Dean and his wife Mary, Roger and his wife Martha, all of Sylva, Ronnie and his wife Sandy of Brevard, Charles of Sylva and Arthur and his wife Kathy of Sylva. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A Memorial Service with full Military Honors will be held at Appalachian Funeral Services Chapel Sunday December 29 with the Revs. Michael Gunter and Johnny Norris officiating.
