I met Doug in 1984 I believe in California doing service work. We traveled the same journey in many respects. I did not see Doug often, but when I did, it was like we never parted. What a legacy Doug leaves in his work with the children. I hope in some way they realize what a treasure they had in their midst. I will always treasure the pipe you made for me Doug,I know it was a gift from the heart. You will be missed by this Micmac boy.

I can never thank or repay Doug and Mary for what they have done to help me become the woman and mother that I am today. Thank you Doug for everything you have done and helped me with, thank you for giving me some of your paintings and making my beautiful clock. You are forever in my heart.

40 years ago I met and became forever friends with Mary. 21 years ago I had the honor of being asked to sing at Doug and Mary's wedding. Doug was ALWAYS kind and welcoming and a gracious host when I stayed with them many times. Doug and my husband got along famously especially as they shared their experiences, strengths, and hopes. Doug will be greatly missed by us. And, Mary, Dori, and Danny and family, you are all in our prayers for God's comfort and strength.
