Obituary of Karen Elaine Woody

Karen B. Woody, 56, passed away Monday March 10, 2014. A resident of Jackson County for the last 20 years, she is the daughter of Helen Woodard Bowers of Sylva and the late Clinton Bowers. She worked for over 11 years at First Citizen Bank in Cherokee and most recently at Medwest Sylva Medical as a receptionist. She was a big fan of Mickey Mouse! In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her twin sons Jeremy and Jason. Besides her mother she is survived by 1 Son- Eric Woody and his wife Tanya of Brighton Township, PA 2 Daughters- Jennifer Woody and her fiancé Justin Schmidt of Sylva Jessica Jenkins and her husband Brian of Bryson City 3 Grandchildren- Matte, Anthony and Madeline Brother- Steve Bowers and his wife Cherie of Sylva Sister- Frances Bowers of Asheville Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday March 14 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon till 2:00 pm prior to the Service at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sugar Fork Cemetery in Franklin, NC. .
