Obituary of Shannon Marie Oxnard

Shannon Marie Oxnard, age 54, of Sylva passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at her home. She was born in Minneapolis, MN but had made her home in Sylva for the past 23 years. She is the daughter of the late James Arnold and the late Kathleen Margaret (Danielson) Casey. She attended the University of California at Berkeley. Shannon served five years in the US Air Force and was a disabled veteran. She also worked as a retail manager for Radio Shack in Asheville and the Sylva Walmart. She loved animals, especially her dog, Deuces, and children. She is survived by a son, Shaun Lentz of Canada; a daughter, Peggy Travis of San Diego; two sisters, Colleen and Ken Gregory of Florida and Erin and Mark Harris of Whittier; and special nieces and nephews. A celebration of Shannon's life will be held on Saturday, July 12 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with Father Cahill officiating. .
