Obituary of Pauline Collins

Pauline (Polly) M. Collins, age 85, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died October 12, 2013 in Thousand Oaks, California. A lifelong resident of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Roy Rollins Mills and the late Mamie Monteith Mills. She was a member of Scotts Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. (Bill) Collins, and a sister, Adeline M. Moses. Survivors include son Steve of Sylva, daughter Jan Berman (Scott) of California; two grandsons, Patrick Collins (Jeany) of Michigan and Justin Collins of Bryson City; three granddaughters, Dara Murphy (Scott), and Alisa and Becca Berman, all of California; three great-grandchildren, Lillian, Benjamin, and Samuel Collins, special niece Stephanie Moses, and the mother of her grandsons, Patricia Gouge. At Polly's request, she is to be cremated and her ashes scattered on a favorite mountain. A memorial service will be held Saturday April 26, 2014 in Scotts Creek Baptist Church at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Johnny Lee Officiating. Burial was in Old Field Cemetery. The Family will receive friends one hour prior the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Scotts Creek Baptist Church, 97 Steeple Rd., Sylva, NC 28779. . .
