Obituary of June Buchanan

June Middleton Buchanan, age 77, died Tuesday, August 23, 2011 in Florida, after a period of declining health. June was born July 21, 1934 in Jackson County, NC. She and her husband, Herbert T. Buchanan were long time residents of Canton, NC. She moved to Bristol, IN, in recent years to be with family. She is the daughter of the late Charles and Annie (Powell) Middleton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert, and a brother, Charles Middleton. She was a graduate of Western Carolina University. She retired after more than thirty years of teaching in Haywood County Schools. She enjoyed teaching, reading, and studying the Bible. She is survived by one son: H. Tyler Buchanan and wife, Opal of Bristol, IN; a brother, Franklin D. Middleton of FL; a special nephew, Chuck Middleton and wife, Pam, of Sylva; a special care giver, Paula Masson and daughter, Chole; a step grandchild, Pamela Duff; a step great granddaughter, Kristin; and a step great grandson, Cameron. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 pm Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Appalachian Funeral Services of Sylva, NC. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel with the Rev.
