Obituary of Susan Elizabeth Rush

Susan Elizabeth Rush, age 84, of Cullowhee, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014. She was born November 3, 1929 in Hornsea, East Yorkshire, England to the late Basil and Virginia (Carre-Smith) Reckitt. Mrs. Rush is survived by her husband of 54 years, Charles Rush, as well as one daughter, Rachel Rush of Dillsboro and one son, Stephen Rush of Denver, CO. She is also survived by her stepmother, Mrs Mary Reckitt, of Milnthorpe, England; two sisters, Jocelyn Chauchet of Paris, France and Rose Cook of Le Bourg, France, as well as a large extended family in the Lake District of England. Mrs. Rush was an active and long-standing member of Saint David's Episcopal Church in Cullowhee. She was also an active member of the Golden Age Senior Center and enjoyed line dancing, traveling and gardening. A memorial service will be held Monday, August 18, 2014 at 2:30 pm at Saint David's Episcopal Church in Cullowhee with the Rev. Michael Hudson officiating.
