Obituary of Phyllis Cogdill Brown

Phylis Cogdill Brown, 78, of Sylva, passed away Thursday August 21, 2014. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late LeRoy and Sadie Green Cogdill. A great mother, grandmother and great grandmother, her family was her life; she loved her entire family and even her favorite dog, Jennifer. She loved sewing as well. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Delos Brown and by her great grandson Bradley Sawyer. She is survived by 3 daughters- Sandra Sawyer of Sylva Deborah Brown of Indian Trail, NC Michelle Allison and her husband Michael of Sylva 1 Son- Roger Dale Brown of Balsam 2 Grandchildren- Katie Allison and Tiffany Sawyer Great Grandchild- Carson Sawyer 1 Sister- Minnie Lee Morgan and her husband Sim of Sylva And many beloved nieces and nephews also survive Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday August 24 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Avery Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Greens Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:00 PM prior to the Service at the Funeral Home . .
