Obituary of Charles Kenneth Fowler

Charles Kenneth Fowler, age 84, of Cashiers died Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Mission Memorial Campus in Asheville, NC. Charles was born October 30, 1929 in Jackson County. He is the son of the late Edward and Fannie Cowan Fowler and was preceded in death by his wife Willie Monteith Fowler and one sister Doris Bumgarner. He was a veteran of the US Army and a retired after 48 years as a Charter member of the Glenville-Cashiers Rescue Squad. He was a member of the Cashiers Baptist Church. A former owner of the Cashiers Texaco station. He is survived by two sons Gregg and wife Tracy Fowler of Cashiers and Mark Fowler of Cashiers and two grandchildren Bentley and Blake Fowler. Three brothers also survive Adrian, Marvin and Raye Fowler of Cashiers and one sister Faye Stewart of Cashiers. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday August 27, 2014 in Cashiers Baptist Church with the Rev. Scotty Patrick officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 Pm Tuesday August 26, 2014 at the Cashiers Baptist Church. Burial will be in Hamburg Cemetery.
