Obituary of Barbara Marueen Ashe

Barbra Ashe, age 54 of Whittier passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday October 30, 2014. She is the daughter of Pat and Dora Nations. She is survived by her husband of 33 years Terry Ashe and one son Graham Tyler Ashe. She retired from Western Carolina University in 2014. Barbara was a member of Serenity Baptist Church in Bryson City. She loved to cook and garden flowers. In addition to her parents, husband and son she is survived by one nephew Josh Williams. She was preceded in death by two sisters Marylin Connie Nations and Brenda Williams. Funeral Services will be held Saturday November 1, 2014 at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with Rev. Max Cochran officiating. Visitation will be Saturday night from 5:00-7:00 pm two hours prior to the services. Burial will be in the Queen-Conner Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Hoyle, Tim Bradley, Bobby Gunter, Randy Bryson, Tommy Beasley, Jeffery Denton and Dustin Cope. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cancer Care of WNC c/o "Loving Lights" program at 70 Westcare Drive Suite 401 Sylva, NC 28779 or to Care Partners Hospice Foundation at PO Box 25338 Asheville, NC 28813.
