Obituary of Michael Lee Hall

Michael Lee Hall, age 61, of Sylva, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Memorial Campus of Asheville. Michael was born May 16, 1953 in Jackson County. He is the son of the late Hardin William Hall and the late Ruth Massey Hall. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Kerry Dianna Hall. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Kathy Ensley Hall; a son, Josh Hall; a cherished granddaughter, Peyton Hall; a brother, Kenneth Hall; a sister, Patricia and Butch Bradley; nephews, Kevin and Krystal Bradley and Richard Bradley; great nieces, Kaitlyn, Kenzie, and Kelsey Bradley, all of Sylva. Michael and Kathy were therapeutic foster parents for Jackson County DSS for many years. Michael cared for these children as his very own. Michael worked for 12 years as a brick mason for Western Builders. He owned Hall Masonry for 20 years. He enjoyed coon hunting, trout fishing, and trapping; and was an avid gardener and carver. He was of the Baptist faith. The funeral will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014 at 3:00 pm, in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services, Sylva, NC, with the Rev. Michael Queen and Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00, before the funeral. Burial will be in Smoky Mountain Memorial Gardens (formerly Fairview Cemetery) of Sylva. Pall bearers will be Kevin Bradley, Kevin Morgan, John Hall, Bryant Holland, Kevin Dills, and Chris Elders.
