Obituary of James Sevier Mason

James Sevier Mason Jr., of Webster, N.C., passed away Sunday January 4, 2015 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with COPD. He retired from the U.S. Marine Corps after 22 1/2 years of Service and was also a Veteran of the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife Patricia Ann Dills Mason of Webster. Children- Libby Mason Ramsey and her husband JD of Goldsboro, N.C., Laura Mason Garmon and her husband Dale of Kannapolis, N.C., James Sevier Mason III of Webster and girlfriend Frankie Michelle Fisher of Sylva. Grandchildren- John David Ramsey and his wife Lia-Megan, Erik James Ramsey, Lance Garrett Ramsey and his wife Jennifer Craven, Ashley Lynne Plyler and Curtis Aaron Plyler Great Grandchildren- L.J., Blake and Kayden Brother- Kenneth Mason of Lake Heartsill, GA. Many nieces and nephews also survive. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Rest in Peace Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday January 7 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Pastor Scott Carter officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2:00 prior to the Service at the Funeral Home. Military graveside rights conducted by Steve Youngdeer Cherokee American Legion Post 143 at Parris Cemetery.
