Obituary of Gretchen Ann Hayes

Gretchen A. Hayes, 70, of Sylva, passed away Friday morning March 6, 2015. A native of DeKalb, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Gregory and Hazel Mohrlein. She loved to read, crochet and to travel, and was a friend to everyone. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Ronald K. Hayes in 2009. She is survived by 2 Daughters- Sherri Hayes of Sylva Khris Coppola-Cabe and her husband Jeff of Sylva 1 Son- John Hayes and his wife Gretchen of Eatonville, WA. 6 Grandchildren- Elizabeth, Josh, Cannon, Raven, Gwynnie and Owen Great Grandson- Kaiden A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held 2:00 PM Thursday March 12 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sylva with Father James Cahill officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Appalachian Funeral Services.
