Obituary of Allan Luther Pickering

Allan Pickering, 76 of Whittier, NC passed away unexpectedly on March 13, 2015 Allan was born December 3, 1938 in Harrisburg, PA. Grew up in Palm Beach County, FL After 40 years at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft he retired in 2000 and finally moved to his mountain home in Western North Carolina with the love of his life, his wife Pat. Where they enjoyed their retirement. He is survived by his beloved wife Pat, his children son Clayton (Tiffani) of Dahlonega, GA, daughter Georgia Minghelli (Randy) of Albuquerque, NM, son Matthew (Elizabeth) of Lake Worth, Fl, daughter Amy Emerick of Weleetka, OK , son Gary Pickering (Barbara) of Deland,FL 8 beautiful grandchildrenand 5 great grandsons. With the blessing of his marriage to Pat he gained the gift of her family as well. He is preceded in death by his father Alexander, mother Anna, sisters Erla Majewski & Jane Brockmiller At Allan's request there will not be a formal funeral. A celebration of his life will be held at noon on March 21st at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryson City, NC In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to St. Joseph's Thrift Shop in Bryson City, NC
