Obituary of Lola Blackburn
Lola Blackburn, age 77, of Cashiers died Saturday, October 8, 2011 at her residence after a period of declining health. Lola was born May 26, 1934 in Jackson County. She is the daughter of the late Rev. Daniel Carsie and Maggie Frady Hooper. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Blackburn; six sisters, and five brothers. She was a member of Yellow Mountain Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters: Debby and Janet Blackburn of Cashiers; a brother Rev. Wesley Hooper and wife Gladys of Franklin, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Tuesday Oct. 11, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Yellow Mountain Baptist Church in Cashiers, with the Rev. Keith Ashe, Rev. Eddie Stillwell, and Rev. Davis Hooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Stewart Cemetery.
The Family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Monday Oct. 10, 2011 in the Yellow Mountain Baptist Church.
