Obituary of Geneva Lily Ensley

Geneva Painter Ensley, 95, of Crestview Heights, Lovesfield Community, passed away July 16, 2015 at Skyland Care Facility after a period of declining health. She was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County. She was the daughter of Otto and Lily Ashe Painter. She was a charter member of New Hope Baptist Church. Geneva was a stay-at-home mom but for many years was a baby sitter of children for working moms. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt Ensley and a son, Thomas Harold Ensley. She is survived by a son, Gerald, and wife Olivia, Ensley, and a daughter, Susie Jones and several grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm, Sunday, July 19, 2015 in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with Rev. Earl Holden officiating. Burial will be at Lovedale Cemetery. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends an hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lovedale Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 160 Lovedale Road, Sylva, NC and/or the United Christian Ministries, 191 Skyland Drive, Sylva, NC.
