Obituary of Daniel Glenn Fisher Jr.

Daniel Glenn Fisher Jr., age 49, of Sylva passed peacefully at home with family by his side Saturday, August 1st, 2015. He is son of Danny and Joyce Deitz Fisher Sr. of Fisher Creek Community. He is the grandson of the late Lloyd and Regenia Fisher of Fisher Creek Community and the late Jerry and Faye Deitz of Savannah Community. He was a native of Jackson County and a a 1984 graduate of Sylva Webster High School. He served his country in the United States Air Force as a C130E Loadmaster and squadron weapons monitor while assigned to the 345th Tactical Airlift Squadron at Yokota Air Base, Japan. The activity he enjoyed most was watching his son play all sports especially Smoky Mountain High School football. His other hobbies included gardening, cooking, fishing and playing guitar. He is survived by his son, Nicholson "Chase" Fisher of the home and his beloved, Laurel Allen Fisher also of the home. Along with his parents he is survived by two brothers, Stephen of Sylva and Nathan with wife Stuart of Richmond, Virginia. He also is survived by five nieces and one nephew. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 8th, 2015 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Lloyd Fish officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Community Table of Sylva.
