Obituary of Hilda Lee Blazer

Hilda Lee Frizzell Blazer, 84, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at Swain County Hospital. Born August 30, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Jason and Bessie Gates Frizzell. During WWII she worked for the Department of the Navy and afterwards Southern Bell. She retired from VerIzon Communications and was a charter member of the Telephone Pioneers. She was a member of Sylva First Baptist Church. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ellis ( Bud ) Blazer Sr. and a brother Clarence Frizzell. She is survived by her son- Ellis Blazer and his wife Debbie of Sylva Sister in laws- Faye Blazer of Knoxville, Janice Frizzell of Raleigh and Erma Crawford of Weaverville. 1 Grandson- Todd Blazer and several nieces and nephews also survive. And Lifelong friend- Evelyn Austin Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Johnny Lee and Dr.John Bunn officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 PM prior to the service. Burial will be in Old Field Cemetery.
