Obituary of Lou Bryson

Lula Mae Bryson, age 98, of Sylva passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015 at home in Sylva. Mrs. Bryson was born August 15, 1917 in Salem, SC. She is the daughter of the late Preston Lane and the late Addie (Grogan) Greene. She was married to the late Cicero Bryson for 48 years. She was also an active member of First Baptist Church for 74 years. She was employed in Jackson County as a Teacher for more than 38 years. She was also an active member of Eastern Star. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers; Clyde, Wallace, Roy, and Ray Greene, Two Sisters; Agnes Jones and Hazel Childress; One son, Forrest Bryson, and Infant child Howell Lane. She is survived by a daughter Mickey (Jerry) Cook, five grandchildren; Craig Bryson, Jason Bryson, Leslie Rodwell, Ashley Stiens, and Kyle Clayton. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren; Zach, Ellie, Anna Kate, Macie, Griffin, Riley, Molly, Cameron, Clayton, and Jack. A Memorial Service has been planned for 2:30pm, Sunday October 25th, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Sylva. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Sylva, PO Box 1024 Sylva NC, 28779. Appalachian Funeral Services has been entrusted with all arrangements.
