Obituary of Mary Lee Hall

Mary Lee Callahan Hall, age 83, of Sylva died Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Skyland Care Center. Mary was born May 25, 1932 in Hayesville, NC. She is the daughter of the late Wesley and the late Fannie (Hollifield) Callahan. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Cline Hall; a son, Larry Dean Hall; brothers, Fred and Carl Callahan, and sisters, Coral Wyatt, Verna Epard, Louise Hudson, and Glyda Galloway. She was employed as a teacher at Scott's Creek School. She was a member of the Old Savannah Baptist Church; president of the Senior Council at Skyland, and a member of a singing group, the Songbirds, at Skyland. She loved singing, laughing, telling jokes, and loved people and serving the Lord. She is survived by sons, Del Hall, Joe Cline and Janice Hall of Corvallis, OR, and Time and Rhonda Hall of Live Oak, FL; a daughter, Pamela Kaye and Steven McIver; a daughter in law, Lynn Hall; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister, Gaynell fisher and a brother, Clyde Callahan. The funeral will be held 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 29 at Old Savannah Baptist Church, 138 Sutton Branch Road, Sylva, NC with Revs. Eddie Stillwell, Allen Callahan, and Tim Pressley officiating. Burial will follow in Old Savannah Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 pm at the church before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Appalachian Funeral Services to help with final expenses. .
