Obituary of Billy Harold Deitz

Billy Harold Deitz, 77, of Sylva passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville after a courageous battle with ESRD and COPD. He was the son of the late Woodrow Deitz and Bonnie Frizzell Deitz. He retired from Mead Westvaco in Stevenson, AL. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Travis; sister Louise; and a grandson Justin. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Delaine Ashe Deitz; One son Kevin and wife Brenda of Sylva; One sister, Joyce Weber of Walton, KY; One grandson, one step-granddaughter, three great grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Mr. Deitz will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday November 17th in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Revs.Eddie Stillwell and Earl Holden officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm prior to the Service at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at East Fork Cemetery.
