Obituary of Ruth Jones

Ruth Jones, age 72, of Barkers Creek Community, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 16, 2015. Ruth was born June 6, 1943. She worked at Buster Brown until they closed, and then went to work at Harris Regional Hospital, where she retired. Ruth was a loving wife and mother. She also loved crossword puzzles, reading, and sharing the word of God. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Manuel "Mans" and Ann Duvall Jacobs; One sister Phyllis Watson; and one infant brother, Roger Jacobs. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Gerald Jones; Two children, Ira and wife Barbara Jones of Barkers Creek, and Lynne Middleton of Barkers Creek. She is also survived by a sister, Faye and husband Mike Deitz; one brother Bobby and wife Shelbia Jacobs; Four grandchildren, Nichole Efird, Ashley Jones, Aimee Middleton, and Clay Jones, along with 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews Services will be held at 2pm, Friday November 20th, 2015 in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services. The family will receive friends from 12 noon- until 2pm at the funeral home. The Rev. David Souderes and Rev. Tommy Ashe will be officiating. Burial will follow the service at Old Savannah Cemetery. Appalachian Funeral Services has been entrusted with all arrangements.
