Obituary of Florence Elizabeth Firestine

Florence Firestine age 92 of Sylva, NC passed away peacefully Tuesday November 24, 2015 at Mountain Trace Nursing Center. She is the daughter of the late Fred and Florence Baldwin. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Arthur Firestine who passed away in 1999. Florence was associated with the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness. She recently knitted 20 purple hats that she donated to Harris Regional Hospital to help support the Shaking Baby Syndrome Foundation which was featured in the Sylva Herald. She is survived by 5 Children, Frances Miller of Elgin, SC, Ron Firestine of Suwanee, GA, Maureen Pitts of Bonifay, FL, Michael Firestine of Sylva, NC and Tim Firestine of Lawrenceville, GA. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son Daniel Firestine. Memorial Services will be held Saturday November 28, 2015 at 4:00pm at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness with Rev. Bill Gurskey officiating. Appalachian Funeral Services are in charge of Arrangements.
