Obituary of Joe Sidney Fulmer

Joe Sidney Fulmer, age 76, died Monday, November 23, 2015 at home in Cullowhee. Joe was born November 23, 1939 in Cherokee County, NC. He is the son of the late Joe Reno and the late Virginia (Franklin) Fulmer. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Robert Fulmer and a sister, Hazel Abbott. For over 50 years, Joe was self-employed and manufactured industrial trailers. He also owned and managed his rental property. He was a member of the Cullowhee Methodist Church, a member of the Dillsboro Masonic Lodge, a Shriner, and an Eagle Scout. He was in scouting for fifty years and was awarded an Adult Distinguished Service Award. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Curl Fulmer; two sons, John W. Fulmer and Joseph K. Fulmer; a daughter, Nancy F. and husband Barry Foxx; grandchildren, Sydney Fulmer, Ramsey Fulmer, Mitchell Wike and Macy Wike; a brother, Jim Henry Fulmer; and a sister, Jennie Lee Lamb. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shrine's Hospital for Children - Greenville, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605. . .
