Obituary of Julia Mae Nations

Judy M. Nations, 67, of Whittier, went home to be with her Lord Wednesday January 6, 2015. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County she was the daughter of the late Adam McMahan and Leona Cabe McMahan of Sylva. She was a member of New Savannah Baptist Church and was a beautician for many years in Jackson County. Judy loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. In addition to her father she was also preceded in death by a brother Ray McMahan and his twin sister Faye Conner, In addition to her mother Leona Cabe McMahan Judy is survived by Her husband of 50 years Fred Nations 1 Son- Keith Nations and his wife June of Whittier 4 Grandchildren- Cody, Tanner, Dustin and Hunter 1 Brother- Bob McMahan of Kingsport, TN 4 Sisters- Linda Phillips of Sylva, Wanda Farley of Whittier, Joyce McMahan of Sylva and Tammy Jones of Sylva Several nieces and nephews also survive Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday January 10 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Revs. Ray Fox, Eddie Stillwell and Mike Farmer officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm prior to the Service at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Thomas Sylvester Nations Cemetery in Whittier. Pallbearers will be Steve Farley, Brett Farley, Chad Crowe, Randy Bryson, Chris Houston and Scotty Stanley. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Great Smokies Health Foundation (Westcare Lifepath Hospice) PO Box 176, Sylva, NC 28779 .
