Obituary of Thomas Eugene McConnell

Thomas Eugene McConnell, age 70, of Sylva died Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Macon Valley Nursing /Rehab of Franklin , NC. Thomas was born March 27, 1945 in Jackson County, NC. He is the son of the late Fred Milton and the late Ila (Hoxit) McConnell. He was proud to have served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Webster Baptist Church, and loved watching sports on television. He is survived by a son, Gabe (Tina) McConnell; a daughter, Anee Mc Connell, grandchildren Alyssa Hewett, Riley McConnell, Harlie Suggs, and Hailey Suggs; brothers, Jim (Olean) McConnell, Ray (Janice) McConnell, and Bob McConnell; sisters, Freddie Jo McConnell, and Nancy Shope; along with various nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 9 in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services, with Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating. . .
