Obituary of Norma Mae Brown

Norma Mae Brown, age 84, of Sylva died Friday, January 8, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Brown was born July 9, 1931. She is the daughter of the late Verlin O. and the late Laura Rebecca (Cloer) Buchanan. In addition to her parents and her husband, Wroe Haney Brown; she was predeceased by sisters, Genette Morrow, Gladys Rhinehart and Myrtle Buchanan; and brothers, Roy Buchanan, Coy Buchanan, Vester Buchanan, and Ralph Buchanan. She worked as a nurse's aide at a local rest home, She loved to travel, shop, fish,andgo to the beach with her sisters. She is survived by her partner, Frank Holden; a son, James Wroe and Patsy Brown; and a granddaughter, Cheyenne Brown. A memorial service will be held 7:00 pm on Monday, January 11 at Appalachian Funeral Services with Rev. Earl Holden and Rev. Mike Moore officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Appalachian Funeral Services. .
