Obituary of Lorena Ensley

Lorena (Rena) Ensley, age 90, of Cullowhee died Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Skyland Care Center. A lifelong resident of Jackson County, Rena was born August 24, 1925. She is the daughter of the late Ralph and the late Essie (Alexander) Ashe. In addition to her parents she was predeceased in death by her husband, N. L. Ensley; a grandson, Chris Ensley; a brother, Coy Ashe; two sisters, Carolyn Fish and Bea Parker; and a stepdaughter, Marie Barris. She was a member of Sols Creek Baptist Church. She loved singing gospel songs, line dancing, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Gay (Mickey) Wilkes; a son, Darrell Ensley; a grandson, Marty Wilkes; two brothers, Charles Ashe, and Ralph Ashe, Jr.; and four sisters, Pearlene Brown, Geraldine Parker, Barbara Phillips, and Linda Harmon. A memorial service will be held at a later date. .
