Obituary of Timothy Vincent Norris

Timothy Vincent Norris, age 49, known to many as "The Gentle Giant", of Cashiers died Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at home in Cashiers. A life long resident of Jackson County, Mr. Norris was born June 28, 1966. He is the son of Jackie C.Norris and Donna Jean (Corbin) Houston. He was predeceased by grandparents: Warner and Lucy (Houston) Norris and Prealo and Alda (Pressley) Corbin, and a step father, Roy Houston. He owned his own business, Tim's Painting. He was a member of Yellow Mountain Baptist Church, which he loved dearly and enjoyed witnessing to others. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography, carving and woodworking. He is survived by his wife: Tammy (O'Kelley) Norris; his father Jackie C. (Sheraldean) Norris and mother Donna Jean (Corbin) Houston; a daughter, Brianna Nicole Norris; a step daughter, Renee Holmes; a stepson, Tommy Palmer; two brothers, Chuck (Donna) and David (Tammy) Norris; a sister, Donna (Ron) Smith; four grandchildren, Ashley, Nicole, Bubba and Sissy; and two half brothers, Clint (Debbie) Dorsey and Bobby (Missy) Dorsey. A funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 9, at 2:00 pm at the Yellow Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Stepp and Rev. Keith Ashe officiating, burial will follow in Norton Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday Feb. 8 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at the church.
