Obituary of Bertha Irene Mills

Bertha Irene Mills, 87, of Sylva died Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Med West Harris in Sylva, NC. Mrs. Mills was born December 13, 1923 in Jackson County. She is the daughter of the late Ode and Bonnie (Mills) Cope. She was the wife of the late Calvin Mills who died in 2001 and was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. She retired from Welco in Waynesville and was a member of the Ochre Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by one son Robert Mills and one daughter Paulette Hall of Sylva, four brothers- Jack Cope of Sylva, Dan Cope of Waynesville, Jim Cope of Little River N C and Donald Cope of Sylva. Four Sisters- Dorothy Freeman of Hilderbran, NC, Mary Garrett of Sylva NC, Sue Felkins of Joplin, MO and Joyce Plemmons of Clinton TN. Six Grandchildren- Mike Hall, Wendi Hall, Paula Coggins, Cindy Messer, Leigh Ann Burrell and Angie Oates. 11 Great Grandchildren- Megan Hall, Drew Hall, Dylan Hall, Blake Moody, Lane Moody, Hannah Coggins, Chase Ensley, Casarrah Ensley, Mathew Burrell, Anna Oates and Leah Oates. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday December 9, 2011 at Ochre Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Earl Holden and Rev. Johnny Norris officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday December 8, 2011at Appalachian funeral Services. . .
