Obituary of Rose T. Konieczka

. Rose T. Konieczka, age 87, passed away Monday, February 8, 2016 at Homestead Hospice of Clyde, NC. Mrs. Konieczka was born May 16, 1928 in Bronx, NY. She is the daughter of the late Joseph Acampora and the late Mary (Plazzo) Acampora. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Melvin Konieczka; brothers, Daniel, James, Gabriel, John, and Joseph; and a sister, Valentina. She was always on the go, she loved cooking, especially Italian specialties, pies, and cakes. She was an active member of the Jackson County Senior Center, and participated in the Senior Games. She enjoyed going out with the girls and dancing. She was a kind person who loved her family and loved working with her hands. She is survived by a son, Jack Joseph Konieczka; a grandson, Jason James Konieczka and his wife, Lindsey; a lifelong best friend, Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Appalachian Funeral Services in Sylva at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 20, with Father J. A. Voitus officiating. .
