Obituary of Priscilla Franks

Priscilla Franks, age 83, of Sylva died Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Harris Regional Hospital. Priscilla was born February 4, 1933 in Jackson County, NC. She is the daughter of the late William and the late Minnie (Wilson) Ridley. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Clifton Franks; three sons, Randy, Clayton, and Ronnie Franks; two sisters, Katherine Browning and Eunice Ashe; one brother, J. T. Ridley, and three grandchildren, Selina, Austin and Clay Franks. She owned and operated Smoky Mountain Construction. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church, her father was one of the original founders of Victory and helped build the original church building. She loved gardening, canning, and cooking, especially Coconut Cream Pie. She enjoyed bird watching and loved her family. She is survived by two sons, T. J. (Stacey) Franks and Rusty Franks; a daughter, Libby Huskey; 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. The funeral will be held 3:00 pm on Sunday, February 21 at Victory Baptist Church, 278 Victory Church Road, Sylva, NC with Rev. Benny Bagwell, Rev. Eddie Stillwell, and Rev. Rusty Wolfrey officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 20 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Appalachian Funeral Services, Sylva, NC.
