Obituary of Benny Lee Frizzell

Benny Lee Frizzell, age 72, of Sylva died Friday, March 4, 2016 at Harris Regional Hospital. A lifelong resident of Jackson County, Benny was born June 18, 1943. He is the son of the late William Coleman and the late Ruby Lee (White) Frizzell. He served in the US Army and the 210th National Guard for a total of 29 years. He worked as a maintenance worker for the Town of Sylva and the Town of Dillsboro. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in the Sylva Park. He is survived by his wife of 47 years: Carolyn Kay (Walker) Frizzell ; two daughters, Teresa (Jeff) Henry, and Cathy (Ben) Powell; three grandchildren, Sarah Henry, Josh Henry, and Camren Powell; two brothers, Harrison and Joe Frizzell; and two sisters, Juanita Edwards and Lucille Franklin. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 6 at 2:30 pm in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating. Burial will follow in Stillwell Cemetery on Little Savannah. The family will receive friends on Sat. March 5, from 5 until 7 pm at Appalachian. . .
