Obituary of Charles Edward Sanders

Charles Edward Sanders, age 75, of Dillsboro died Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Harris Regional Hospital of Sylva. Mr. Sanders was born August 29, 1940 in Macon County, NC. He is the son of the late Claude and the late Leona (Tippett) Sanders. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Thelma and Jim Hoxit; three brothers, James Dee, Ronald Ray, and Thomas Bill Sanders; and a grandson, Christophor Sneed. He served in the Army. He was employed as a US Forest Service Fire and Recreation Technician. He was a member of East Fork Baptist Church ,and an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 28 years: Gwenith (Jenkins) Sanders; three sons, Charles II of Otto, Kelly of Franklin, and David Sanders of Sylva; three stepchildren that he loved as his own, Katina Price, Marsha Thorpe, and Jimmy Sneed; eleven grandchildren, Melissa, Annie, Hunter, Cooper, Josh, Brooklynn, Kasey, Justin, Jacob, Josiah, Rachel; and two great grandchildren, Sierra and Paislee. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 10 at 11:00 am at East Fork Baptist Church, with Rev. Eddie Dietz and Rev. Dennis Burrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Breedlove Cemetery in Tuskeegee, NC. The family will receive friends on Wednesday night, March 9, from 6 until 8 pm at Appalachian Funeral Services in Sylva. . .
