I would like to extend my condolences to the entire Dillard family in the sadness of the missing of Jane’s presence in your lives. She had a passion for the doings of life. Her laughter and humor, her gruffness and all-knowing, were always real and uniquely Jane. Her spirit filled with kindness in action and intolerance towards injustice, which I admired. But most of all there was a sweetness hidden deep within her being, which is where my tears flow. I am grateful to call Jane my friend and to have been given the opportunity to experience life with the Dillard's. Thank you… ayer g.

Dear Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I was privileged to know Jane and work with her as one of my favorite customers when she worked at Biltmore Estate as well as Fee Hedrick Entertainment. She became a personal friend and I thought so much of her.
Oh the stories I could tell, as to how she "broke me in" as a new sales rep the first time I called on her...She was brutal and yet when she figured out that I had gusto too,and that she could count on me to be honest as opposed to telling her what she wanted to hear and that I would follow up and follow through, we established a firm bond, based upon trust and deep mutual respect that became the basis of a good friendship as well.
Jane had a heart of gold and once you were her friend, you were her family. She loved her mom, brothers and sisters and all of the nieces and nephews. She would entertain her friends with all of your stories and accomplishments! So I feel as if I know many I you. She was so proud of each of you!
I wanted you all to know that Jane meant a great deal to me and I enjoyed working with her and as my customer she taught me so much about this industry. I cared deeply for her and will miss her.
Sincerely,
Sheila

I just saw the notice of Jane's passing and am surprised and am so sorry to get this news. Jane was a special "gal" - I loved her and knew her as we grew up in the Dillard/Claxton families - Bob Claxton was my brother. Your family has a special place in my heart and my love goes out to all of you. Please give my love to Kitty.

My condolences to the Dillard family. Jane and I had lost touch in the past few years. I first met Jane while working in food service sales at High Hampton. We hit it off and shared a few rounds of golf over time. I must have done something right ( or Jane knew that she could always get a better price ) because she asked me to call on her when she moved to another work place. I worked with her when she was in charge of purchasing at Richmond Hill, and afterwards again at the Biltmore Estate. I lost track of Jane when I changed careers but always have remembered her fondly. Jane was a great lady, that loved her family, and was always telling me what great and wonderful things they were doing. I was shocked to read of her death. My heartfelt condolences go out to her family and friends, and a toast to you Jane, you were an amazing lady!!

There was certainly a lot of qualities to like about Jane. The best, for me, was that there was never any doubt about how she felt about something and she would let let you know what was on her mind. I always loved being around her and eating her good food. She will be missed by all that knew her. RIP Jane.

Condolences to all of you. In high school, I always admired Jane's "esprit libre", and wished I could more "polished" as she was. She visited me once in Athens, Ga., with my brother Mark and we reminisced about some of those high school days. Saw her again at class reunion and was looking forward to more of same now that I've planned to be in NC more. So sad at her passing.

Couldoresly,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Like all the of The Dillard family, Jane was a very big part of my early life. The best of times for my family had everything to do with growing up in Forest Hills. That Community probably never would have existed had it not been for the vision of Mr. Dillard. The Country Club, JustJanes, the Cat House etc we're all such a big part of the experience of growing up in Forest Hills. One of my earliest memories is mistakenly thinking I could swim and Miss Kitty fishing me out of the water. I also have very fond memories of your sister Jane and my mother sitting on the deck at our house and talking and laughing for hours. I have known you all, all my life and I hope you all know how important your family is to me. Mac
