Obituary of Lydia Marie Morgan

Lydia Marie Morgan, age 74, of Sylva died Sunday, April 17, 2016 at her home. A lifelong resident of Jackson County, Lydia was born September 15, 1941. She is the daughter of the late Henry Junior and the late Pauline (Burress) Hall. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Carroll Morgan. She worked in the office of Skyland Nursing Home doing clerical duties. She was a member of the Old Savannah Baptist Church. Those familiar with Lydia knew of her love for flowers and gardening. She is survived by two sisters, Henrietta (Jerry) and Jeannette Moore, both of Sylva; one brother, James David (Marilyn) Hall of Hendersonville; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 20 at Appalachian Funeral Services, Sylva, with Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating. Burial will follow in Old Savannah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at Appalachian. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations please be made to the Cancer Center of WNC, 609 Asheville Highway, Sylva, NC, in Lydia's honor. They also wish to thank Harris Lifepath for their compassion and care during Lydia's last week at home. .
