Obituary of Jerry Dennis Connor

Jerry Dennis Connor, 73, of Sylva, passed away Saturday May 28, 2016. A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Alvin Lee and Mary Helen Conner. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and farming. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by 2 sons; Nolan Gene and Dennis Bryan Connor and by 2 brothers; Albert Lee and Larry Leon Connor. He is survived by his wife of 26 years Elizabeth Mills Connor 1 Son- Jerry Lee Connor (Martha) of Sylva 1 Daughter- Angela Renee Conner of Sylva 3 Stepsons- James Mills (Mary) of Texas, Grady Mills of Sylva and Randy Marrinan of Sylva 14 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren 3 Sisters- Lena Jo Parris of Sylva, Fannie Connor Frady (John) of Cullowhee and Janice Connor Blackwell (Ben) of Tuckasegee 1 Brother- Gary Owen Connor Sr. of Sylva Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM Wednesday June 1 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the Service at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Conner Family Cemetery. .
