Obituary of Martin Chesley Boatwright

Martin "Charlie" Chesley Boatwright, Jr, age 79, of Sylva died Friday, June 24, 2016 at Harris Regional Hospital of Sylva , 28779. Mr. Boatwright was born December 3, 1936 in Vancouver, WA. He is the son of the late Martin Chesley and the late Marie (Becker) Boatwright. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Ronald Boatwright. Charlie was self employed. He worked as an electrical contractor and owned Boatwright Electric and also ran Citrus County Speedway. He loved his great grandchildren, NASCAR racing, the mountains and living in his cabin in NC. He is survived by his ex-wife to whom he had been married for 55 years, JoAnne Boatwright; his daughter, Deborah Anne and husband, "Chuck" Charles M. Penniman; his son, "Boaty" Martin Chesley Boatwright III; his brother Richard Boatwright and wife Michelle; grandchildren, Tanya Penniman and Ryan Weirich; four great grandchildren, Allison Weirich, Bryce Crain; Colton Lively and Jacob Lively; and nieces and nephews, Rhonda Geib, Roxan Reum, Pam Allen, and Richard Boatwright; and special friends, "Linda and Rick", Pat, Ray and John. Services will be held at Beyers Funeral Home in Leesburgh, FLA, at 11:00 am on July 11, 2016, followed by burial in Shiloh Cemetery, Shiloh Road, Fruitland Park, FLA. . .
