Obituary of Allen Franklin Jones

Allen Franklin Jones, age 83, of Sylva went home to be with the Lord Saturday, July 9, 2016. A native of Jackson County, he is the son of the late Frank and Nina (Parris) Jones. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sylva, loved old muscle cars and was an avid hunter. He was owner/operator of Allen Jones Motors for 25 years in Sylva. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and he loved his grandkids In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by sister, Portia Marie Jones. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty (Gates) Jones; 2 daughters; Brenda (Gary) Patterson of Sylva and Beverly (Rick) Balliot also of Sylva 3 grandchildren; Laura P. Merritt and Jackie and Derek Balliot, .He is also survived by two brothers: Ray Jones of Easley, SC and Marion Jones of Sylva. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, July 11, 2016, at Appalachian Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday July 12 in the Chapel of the Funeral Home.
