Obituary of Winston Carol Reed

Winston Carol Reed, 74 of Cullowhee, went home to be with the Lord, Monday August 8, 2016. A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Grady and Delia (Allison) Reed. Winston retired from the Jackson County School System where he was the Director of Transportation and Driver's Education Teacher touching the lives of over 10,000 students. Aside from hunting, gardening and his weekly trips to the Farmer's Market, he was an encourager to all, a prayer warrior, loving husband, father and grandfather. His open heart for all his family and his community made up the full life that he lived until his very last day. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother Lyndon Reed and his sister Rachel Sutton. Winston is survived by the love of his life of 53 years, Linda Watson Reed 2 daughters; Kim Carver (Randy) of Waynesville, Beverly King of Cullowhee 1 son- Edward Reed (Heather) of Waynesville 9 grandchildren; Chad, Zack, Morgan, Reed, Caitlyn, Mackenzie, Blake, Casey and Peyton Grace 4 great-grandchildren; Lola, Ava, Jaydon and Zoe 1 sister- Wanda Moss of Cullowhee; and 1 brother Doyle Reed of Tennessee. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday August 13th at Scotts Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. J.D. Grant, Gene King and Jeffrey Vickery officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening August 12th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Appalachian Funeral Services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation, 1715 E.
