Virginia was a very special person. We met her when we first moved to Sylva. She was working at Searcy's Restaurant & we went in to eat. Our daughter was a student at WCU & got a job working at Searcy's. Virginia was so supportive & we really appreciative of her. Walmart won't be the same without her greeting, "Hey, honey. How are you today?" We loved her & will miss her.

In the utmost respect, it saddens me to no end to know that Ms Virginia will no longer be in our presents! I owe so much to this wonderful lady. Her words of encouragement in harden times helped me get through the worldly sins of evil. Never did she fail to say to me, " How is that Keith doing or Megan is so smart, thank you for giving her a chance". She loved her family so much. Supportive, protective and not ever afraid to stand up to anyone at anytime if she believed in you. Her independence was amazing to always moving forward. Strong will to get to her jobs no matter the way she felt. I am going to miss talking to her and to here the words of strength and support that never wavered in all circumstances.
Thank God for placing her in my life!
My sincere condolences to her family, friends and love ones. She will be greatly missed by many.
I'm sure that the good lord has already heard some good honest opinions!

The world is a better place for Miss Virginia having been in it. I am sorry that her time with us ended, but so glad for the time we got to spend with her. My thoughts are with her family; if she affected those of us who worked with her so strongly, I imagine that her loving presence will be greatly missed.

She will be so dearly missed. She was a great person to work with. She always said things to brighten my day. When I was pregnant with my son she bought him an outfit which I used to have his pictures taken when he was born. She will be missed but is with Jesus now and not in this cruel cruel world. I love you miss Virginia.

You will be missed in the community. You everyday presence at Walmart assured shoppers that there would be a friendly face greeting them as they walked through those doors. However, I am sure the Lord is much happier to have you by his side.

To Joyce, Jimmy, Pat, and family:
It was an honor and a privilege to have provided care for your mother these past few days while she was at Harris Regional. I only met her a few times at WalMart on my trips into town for work and she always greeted everyone with a smile. The large number of young employees from WalMart that visited her in her final days is a true testament to the impact she made in her life on every person she encountered.

There are people who come into your life that touch your heart so deeply that there is a void that will never be filled. I had the pleasure of working with Virginia for 17 years. She treated me like a daughter and there wasn't a day that went by that we didn't tell each other "I love you". She was my lunch buddy, my friend and family. When I moved to Tennessee, you were the one person I dreaded telling because I was going to miss you so much. We have shared good times, laughter and some tears. You were one of the best cooks in world and no one will ever make chicken puffs or corn bread salad like you. I cried when I heard the news because I didn't get to tell you good bye, but it's never goodbye. The only thing left to say is I Love You and " I will see you soon hon"! Heaven gained a beautiful soul.
I will not be able to come Tuesday but I just want the family to know that she was the strongest, toughest, sweetest woman. My prayers are with you in the days to come. May the lord give you peace and comfort.

My husband informed me today of Virginia's passing. When we walked into Walmart she would always hug my husband and talk for a moment. He would always introduce us to each other again, just in case we forgot. But how could you forget that joyful little woman. She was a treasure. He expressed to me his sadness concerning her passing. I am so sorry and wish you God's peace.
