My grandfather was Lucy's stepson. My dad ALWAYS thought of her as his grandmother. We continued to visit her at her home on Ratcliff Cove and as she transitioned to different parts of Silver Bluff. I have many pictures of us with her over the years. We still miss her all the time and are still saddened of her passing all this time later. She was an amazing woman. I wish we had been able to come to her services.

I was total shocked yesterday when I went to the
Silver Bluff Nursing Home to see granny Lucy when I was told she has passed away. She was a wonderful loving person. I have many fond memories of going to visit her and papaw Charlie. She was a wonderful cook. I always loving going at Christmas to get a piece of her homemade Red Velvet Cake. In the summer her Peach Cobbler. You will be missed by all that knew her.

This is Hilliard's granddaughter, Hugh's daughter. My dad always took us to see Lucy. From the little house on Ratcliff Cove and at both the assisted living and the nursing home. I saw last her several months back.
If you count Lucy's step children, as my dad always called her Grandma Lucy. She had many, many great and great-great-grandchildren. I have many pictures of us with her over the years. If you would like any copies let me know. We loved her dearly. I am just now hearing of her passing. My dad will be heartbroken.
