I’m am terribly saddened to learn of the passing of a wonderful, witty and charming gentleman who cut my hair for so many years in South Florida. More than likely, Jay gave me my first haircut, wash and dried my hair in my wedding day (in 1986) and even came to the church to be sure my headpiece was on correctly. I am traveling to NC this fall and was hoping to see him after too many years.
John, I am terribly sorry for you loss. Jay will always have a special place in my heart. Godspeed my wonderful friend.

We are a group of women who have been spending a week in October together in Bryson City for 21 years and we always make time to go visit the Golden Carp.
We didn't make it last year and today after the pottery festival we popped in to see the owners.
We immediately noticed the store had changed.
I mentioned that and a nice lady said that one of the partners had passed last September.
I glanced around and saw who was missing and my eyes welled up with tears.
I always enjoyed chatting with Bud for just a few minutes a year.
He always told me about their travels.
He was a lovely human being and I will miss him.

John, My husband and I had been going to the Golden Carp for over 14 years. Last time I was there Bud said they were leaving and not quite sure what they were doing next..but he was not retiring. So very saddened, recently, to hear the news about Bud and his death....such a funny and nice man who had a zest for life. God Bless. Allison & Jeff

John and family,
Elaine and I have been regular customers of the Golden Carp since 1993. We want to express our deepest sympathies upon learning of the sudden and unexpected passing of "Bud." He was a quick witted, kind and caring individual who obviously enjoyed his life and we will miss his presence in Dillsboro.
We were sorry to see the closure of the shop after so many years, but we understand the depth of loss and the need to reflect and come to terms accordingly.
May the Lord bless and keep you in his care.
Elaine and Risher Fairey

We are so saddened and our hearts are heavy with Bud's passing. His beautiful smile always greeted us when we came from Naples, FL to the Golden Carp or the 360 Salon. To John, a special friend to us, and Bud's family we send our prayers and love.

John, I'm so sorry for your loss. I didn't know Bud very well but it was always nice to see him out walking the dogs. He was never too busy to chat for a moment. He will be missed by all the Dogwood crafters.
