Obituary of Ralph Joseph Smith
Ralph "Bud" Smith, 69, of Dillsboro, passed away Friday September 18, 2015. A native of Chicago, Illinois, he had been a resident of Jackson County for the past 25 years. He was the son of the late Ralph and Evelyn Bork Smith. Bud had been an Alderman for the Town of Dillsboro for 8 years and was co-owner of the Golden Carp in Dillsboro. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by sisters Nancy DeMars and Beverly Franks as well as a brother Warren Smith.
He is survived by his life partner of 38 years John Miele
Sister- Lorraine Remmelzwaal of Oakland, Ark.
And numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Bud's life will be announced at a later date.
Being such an animal lover, in lieu of flowers donations can be made in Bud's name to the Jackson County Humane Society (ARF), 538 Scotts Creek Rd., Suite 100, Sylva, NC 28779 or a local humane society of your choice.
