Obituary of Henry Wilfred Roy

Henry Wilfred Roy, 61, of the Speedwell Community in Jackson County unexpectedly passed away Monday, September 21, 2015. He is preceded in death by his mother Beatrice Roy. He is survived by his father Raoul Roy and step-mother Margaret Roy of Vermont. Three brothers, Albert Roy, David Roy and Eugene Roy; Two sisters Anita Roy and Denise Sears; one daughter of the home Sidney Anne Beatrice Roy and her mother Anne Masson; two-steps Owen Kendall and Blake Masson; five step-daughters Traci Hagle, Tammy Hasty, Jorden Masson, Kimberley Roberts and Thereasa Wike. Serveral grandchildren and great grandchildren. As well as his dog, Marcy. Henry was a man who understood and appreciated the value of hard work. Born in Middleberry, VT he grew up experiencing life well rounded. At the age of 17, Henry began his pathway to becoming the skilled carpenter as well all knew him today. Henry came to the mountains in 1989 and made them his home. He served the community as a contractor for 26 years. Henry was a man cherished by all. If he wasn't working hard or with his family he spwnt his time talking! He loved to enjoy life. Henry Spent his life outdoors whether it was on the job, wandering the woods or tending to his farm – he stayed busy. He supported his family and those around who needed him the most. A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 3:00pm in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00pm one hour prior to the service.
