Obituary of Ted L. Stephens

Ted L. Stephens, 78, of Sylva died Friday, November 4, 2011 at his home in Sylva. Mr. Stephens was born May 8, 1933 in Jackson County, NC. He is the son of the late Bill and Gerdie (Mills) Stephens. He was preceded in death by his wife Maye Mathis Stephens. He was a member of the Burger King coffee Club in Sylva. He was a member of Buff Creek Baptist Church. He retired from Dayco International and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He is survived by 1 son - Dan and wife Beverly Stephens of Hixson, Tennessee 2 grandchildren - Matthew and Zachary Stephens And a special friend Cora Browning. A funeral will be at 12:00 Monday in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Charles Dean and Rev. Eddie Stillwell officiating. The Family will receive friends one hour prior the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Addie Cemetery with graveside rites conducted by William E. Dillard American Legion Post 104.
