I met Lillie at SCC, she was a sweet and wonderful person. We shared lots of good times, some funny and some sad during our friendship. She will be missed. She loved her family and spoke of them all often. Rest in Peace, Lillie.

I met Lillie when she was a student in several office systems courses I taught at SCC. She was nice, bright person and an inspiration to others that it's never to late to achieve your goals. I will always have fond memories of Lillie and her family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Our prayers go out to the family of Lillie. We have special memories of going to school and playing basketball for Cullowhee. She called me with concern when she learned I had cancer. Her battle's over and she's home. God bless all.

I only met Aunt Lillie Mae a few times, but she treated me just like her own niece and welcomed me into the family with open arms. I'm grateful that she got to meet Gabby this past winter and that Gabby got to meet her. We'll miss you and love you!

Twenty-two years ago, almost to the day Rob brought me to meet his Aunt Lille and Grandpa Taylor. I still remember walking in the front door and having the introductions. We stayed for a couple of hours and when we left I knew I had made a new friend. You did not mind my whimsical “let’s go to Asheville at the drop of a hat. Years later you would tell me that I made you laugh at my silly ideas and the laughter helped you through the loss of Andy. You helped me plan my wedding, encouraged me every time I thought about giving up on school. You were my friend and most of all a 2nd Mom to me. When Tyler came along you treasured every moment he was with you. You traveled to spend time with us just because and to this day my favorite picture is of you feeding Tyler his 1st birthday cake. I believe the curve I almost took out in Asheville will forever be the most we ever laughed, screamed and cried all at once. It is only a memory that the two of us really could ever find the humor in when it was told. I will treasure all the times we sang together (on-key and off-key). We could spend hours on the phone talking. Robby said that he was so thankful when unlimited calling was available but never once prior to that would he say not to talk. He knew we had a special bond that would forever remain intact. My dearest Lillie, I will always love you and know that my heart has locked a special place just for you. I am so thankful you are no longer suffering and that you have joined so many in heaven. What a beautiful reunion you must be having. Give Grandpa Taylor a big hug and let him know I’ve kept my promise of taking care of his buddy! Tell Grandma Taylor that Bud said hello. Until we meet again my dearest know I’ll be holding our times together like they are treasures of gold.

How does a person sum up a lifetime of memories in a few lines? I was fortunate to grow up with an awesome family who instilled in all of us kids at a young age the importance of family. Oh the times we had at reunions and family get togethers, the walls of the house would vibrate with the sounds of laughter and all of us kids running in and out. I truly miss those days. My Aunt Lillie was the one who made me feel like I was the most special at anytime, she always had a kind word or gentle touch to let me know I was her girl. Red was her favorite color, Scarlet was her favorite lady and how she loved to read books and watch old movies, and she wasn't bad at playing Gin Rumy. She may be gone from this world but she has gone on to join those that passed before her that are now rejoicing at having their time back with her. I shall miss my little ladybug (which she greatly hated!!) but all to soon I will be seeing her on the other side. Godspeed my Lillie,Godspeed.
