Obituary of Lillie Scussel

Lillie Scussel, age 70, of Cullowhee died Friday, April 22, 2011 at Mountain Trace Nursing Center in Sylva, NC. Mrs. Scussel was born July 7, 1940. She is the daughter of the late Howard A. and Maleta Taylor. Lillie obtained an Associate of Science degree in Administration from Southwestern Community College in Sylva. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband , Carl E. Scussel, Sr.; a son, Andy Scussel and a brother, David Taylor. She is survived by two sons: Carl Scussel of Cullowhee, NC, Mike Scussel of Bryson City; two sisters: Shirley Tilson of Cullowhee, Polly Ruthalene Miller of Chicago, IL; one brother, William Taylor of Cullowhee, NC; 5 grandchildren, Tony and Zackary Wiggins, Hannah and Maleta Scussel, and Justin Woodard; and 3 great grandchildren, Jeffery, John, and Michael Woodard. A graveside service will be held 4:00 pm on Sunday, April 24 at the Taylor Cemetery, Pressley Creek Road, Cullowhee, NC with Rev. Terry Taylor officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Taylor Cemetery Fund, 2636 Pressley Creek Road, Cullowhee, NC. .
