Obituary of Lorinda Opalee Casey

Lorinda O. Casey, 74, of Cullowhee, went home to be with her Lord the evening of Friday January 8, 2016 at Morning Star Assisted Living Facility. Born in Cullowhee, N.C. to the late Estes and Derosette Casey, she was one of ten siblings. Lorinda was employed at Western Carolina University as a custodian before retiring in 2006. Known for her knowledge and passion for working with electronics and building robots, Lorinda also had a passion for life and for people and loved to sing. She was loved by all that knew her and will be sorely missed. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her sisters: Permelia and Irma Casey, Victoria Casey-McDonald and brothers; Victor, Delaney and Horace Casey. Lorinda is survived by 2 sisters; Geraldyne Casey and Mrs. Floretta Casey-Graham Numerous nieces and nephews as well as a host of relatives and friends also survive Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday January 16 in the Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Bishop Adam West officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the Service at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Susan G.
