Outstanding leader that steered the ship without raising his voice. Always full of encouragement. A gym rat that I thought would live forever! Thank you for your recognition, my friend. Thank you for inviting me to watch the Tyson fight on your then new 50 inch rear projection TV! I'll always remember your trade of the Avalon for the BMW conv and you switching your PCS Orders during your transfer. I'll always regard you as the intelligent yet down to earth compassionate type of person. Rest in peace my friend. Fair winds and following seas. Until we meet again.

I was so sorry to hear about Glen. You probably do not know this, but I am Paul Reid's daughter. I had the great pleasure of meeting Glen when he came to Iowa for my fathers service. I didn't know him long, but from breaking bread with him and hearing stories about him and my father I could tell he was a good guy and that Paul and Glen meant a lot to each other. Before he got back on the road, I hugged him and called him my uncle. We continued to chat through Facebook. Glen will surely be missed. As my father would say, Ttfn! TaTa for now.

Glen has been part of our lives since 1979, he was at my high school graduation, he was even a groomsman in mine and Bill's wedding! When we last saw him this past Christmas, the last thing he said was that he would see us in March for our daughter's wedding. I am still having a hard time believing he is gone.
To his family, Glen was a very special man...definitely 1 of a kind! He always had a smile and kind words for you! When my dad passed away almost 7 years ago, he sent a very special card to my mom that he filled with his thoughts. It was the most beautiful and heartfelt card that my mom still treasures to this day! Glen will truly be missed but the memories he left all of us will live on with each and every one of us!

How my heart ached when I learned of Glen's passing. Yet how thankful I was for the quality time we were blessed to spend with him Christmas Day, 2015 when he popped in to say hello and wish us a pleasant and safe 2016. I knew Glen through our son Bill as they were in the Navy and served on the same ship. He made many trips to Baton Rouge to visit, always with smiles and a positive attitude. Our loss is Heaven's gain. And to his girls and extended family, praying God will comfort you as you embrace your great loss.

My heartfelt sympathies to Glens entire family and also to his numerous friends. We all know there are steps to get through this, sadness, anger and others but it's all part of the process, I mentioned how I admired Glen for his happy demeanor, his incredibly deep knowledge of many subjects, his riding ability and also how much he invested time and effort into his friendships.I won't forget seeing Glen sitting on a rocking chair at the lodge next Fred, neither saying a word but both just enjoying their closeness.
God bless you all.

I met my dear friend Glen in 1978 on the USS Piedmont. He became a very close friend and we ran the roads and created many memories along with our fellow shipmates. Glen and I have kept in touch and up to date with each of our lives since. I am so glad I was able to see him this past Christmas. He always had a big smile. I loved him like a brother. I will miss his physical presence, but Glen will live on in my heart! Until I see you again Glen, Rest In Peace!
